Fertility Acupuncture for IVF: FAQs

1. Is fertility acupuncture safe during IVF?

Yes. Fertility acupuncture is considered very safe when performed by a licensed practitioner with specialized training and deep knowledge of fertility and IVF.

2. When is the best time to start fertility acupuncture for IVF?

The best time to start fertility acupuncture is 2-3 months before your IVF cycle. This allows time to regulate your menstrual cycle, improve blood flow to the ovaries and uterus, and support overall egg and sperm quality. However, even if you begin closer to your IVF cycle, acupuncture can still be very beneficial - especially during ovarian stimulation, before egg retrieval, and around embryo transfer.

3. Do you work with patients going through IVF with Olive Fertility Centre, PCRM or Grace Fertility?

Yes. I routinely provide fertility acupuncture for patients who are preparing or actively undergoing IVF treatments at Olive Fertility Centre, PCRM (Pacific Centre for Reproductive Medicine) and Grace Fertility. Many of my patients live in the Tri-Cities (Port Coquitlam, Coquitlam and Port Moody) and travel to these fertility clinics for their IVF treatments.

I have supported countless patients at every stage of the IVF process - from ovarian stimulation and egg retrieval to fresh or frozen embryo transfer. My treatments are carefully tailored to complement your fertility clinic's protocol.

4. Can fertility acupuncture help with side effects of IVF medications?

Yes. Many patients find that acupuncture helps ease common IVF side effects such as bloating, headaches, mood changes, and digestive discomfort. My treatments are gentle and designed to support your body as it responds to fertility medications.

5. Can fertility acupuncture support embryo transfer during IVF?

Yes. Fertility acupuncture is used before and after embryo transfer to improve blood flow to the uterus, support a healthy uterine lining, and encourage implantation. My treatments are designed to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and help created the best possible environment for embryo transfer success.

6. Is fertility acupuncture safe after I become pregnant?

Yes. Fertility acupuncture is considered safe during early pregnancy after a successful IVF cycle when performed by a licensed practitioner with specialized training in pregnancy care. Acupuncture may help ease common symptoms such as nausea, fatigue, and stress, while also supporting implantation and helping stabilize the pregnancy during the first trimester.
